This website was created to foster the sharing of information about genomic medicine and how it is dependent upon health information technology.  Healthcare providers are facing an avalanche of new information related to the human genome and will need support from information technology systems in order to provide optimal care to patients. Genomic research is heavily dependent upon access to clinical data that is complete and accurate.  With this type of data the influence of the genome on diseases processes and responses to treatment will become apparent, and physicians will have new tools with which to manage patients specific to their unique genetic characteristics.
